Diary dates.

After an unusually long and grey winter, the sun has returned – and where there’s sun there’s fun at George’s Ranch, so grab your diary and take note of the fabulous events we’ve got planned for the coming months.

First up is an annual favourite, Easter Pony Club!
Taking place this week, on Tuesday 11th and Wednesday 12th April, the Pony Club is a fun-filled opportunity for young Ranchers – and holidaying Ranchers – to improve not only their riding skills but also their horse knowledge.
In an action-packed two days, instructor Karen will share her many years of expertise to provide youngsters with the know-how and skills to look after ponies and horses with confidence. Of course, it’s not all about learning and there will be plenty of games – both on and off our ponies. The price is €45 per day and includes lunch.

Coming fast on the heels – or should that be hooves – of Pony Club is the George’s Ranch Easter Show on Saturday April 15th.
This promises to be yet another all-action event with a Fancy Dress show, an Easter egg hunt (for both beginners and more experienced riders), an obstacle course and jumping challenges. There will also be an endless stream of eggs-cruciating egg puns throughout the day. Each class has a €10 entry fee and riders can enter as many or as few as they like.

Of course, April isn’t all about the youngsters as we have a very special guest arriving at the end of the month who may be of interest to more experienced riders – trainer extraordinaire, Judy Bradwell. Judy has not only enjoyed a fantastic riding career – including a win at Burghley – but she is on the select committee for the New Zealand eventing team and is a highly-respected – and sought after – international judge and trainer. Therefore, it is not only a great honour to welcome Judy to George’s Ranch, but also to provide the venue for private lessons should anyone be interested in taking advantage of Judy’s expertise.
For two days only, Judy will be available for private one-to-one lessons on the 24th and 25th April. The lessons will last an hour and cost €60. Overnight stabling can be provided if required.

So, that’s the schedule for April, and there’s a lot more of this kind of fun to come with a two-day away pony camp scheduled for June, a dressage to music show in July as well as a number of show jumping clinics throughout the summer hosted by our very own PanCyprian Show Jumping Champion, Caroline. There will also be regular opportunities to take lessons with some of Europe’s finest dressage instructors, so keep watching this space for details.

For more information on all the events, shows and lessons mentioned here please contact me on 99647790. For anyone wishing to have a lesson with Judy Bradwell, it is advised to book early to avoid disappointment.
