We Wish You a Merry Christmas…

Yes! It’s that magical time of year again when we get to spend quality time with the ones we love (our horses), when we give thanks for all the good things we have in our lives (our horses) – and we eagerly await to see what Santa brings on Christmas Day (for our horses)!

Of course, as 2019 comes rumbling to a close, it’s also a time of reflection as we prepare to greet the coming new year.

In many ways, it has been a challenging year, with many changes having taken place, but as we look ahead to 2020, we do so with a renewed sense of purpose.

Thanks to the team – not to mention the external support of family and friends – George’s Ranch has cemented its position as the premier equestrian centre in the region.

With first class facilities, and a reputation to match, we are attracting more new riders as well as record-breaking numbers of tourists, all of which means – new staff.

We have a number of new initiatives up-and-running and in-the-pipeline, of which you will hear more about in the coming months, and we have ambitious plans for all of our equestrians, both in Cyprus and internationally. So, watch this space because 2020 promises to be quite a ride!

This month, we also managed to squeeze in some truly memorable moments in between the usual rainstorms.

Earlier in December, we put on our annual Christmas Toddlers Group special, something that is always great fun for us and our ponies – and of course Roxy stole the show, like she does every year.

Then, three days before Christmas, we held a very special carol concert down at Cap St George Beach Club Resort – on horseback!

Performing a collection of carols for onlookers, who were also treated to hot mulled wine, food and Father Christmas, our Ranchers sang their hearts out in order to raise money for vulnerable youngsters in Paphos.

And our horses, well, they behaved impeccably and we couldn’t have been prouder of them.

The festive fun was organized by Ranch instructor Karen Rhodes and the riders not only stayed in the saddle throughout, but raised more than €270 for charity.

Ranch supremo Caroline said: “We have been looking at a number of ways to give back to the Paphos community and after speaking to the guys at Cap St George we both decided we would like to do something special for the region’s vulnerable children this Christmas.

“So, the Ranch lay on the carol singers and the resort’s management supplied the food, the drinks and a surprise visit from Santa.”

So, here we are; another year over and a new one about to begin. It has been an interesting year with the foundations laid for the many great changes ahead, and we sincerely hope you stay with us for the ride to come. Until then, we wish you a Merry Christmas….

………… and a Happy New Year!
